In this article, we provide a first look at an unexplored topic in Argentina: the study of antifascist organizations active in Argentine football clubs. We select three cases: Bicho Antifascsita, Ferro Antifascista, and Velez Antifascista. Using an ethnographic approach, we describe and analyze these groups based on their political stance, “cultura del aguante”, and neighborhood activism. We conclude that the idea of antifascism circulates as more than a reaction to fascism, situating itself within the realm of anticapitalism. We also identify an ambivalent relationship among activists regarding the “cultura del aguante” and the development of neighborhood-based activities that embody the groups' values while simultaneously highlighting their characterization of fascism.
