Chemical absorption using amine aqueous solution is the more promising alternative for the CO2 capture from fossil fuel power plants. The mechanisms of the chemical reactions involved by CO2 /H2 O/amines is complex and the reactions take place in parallel and series and the concentrations of the chemical species in both phases (liquid and vapor) depend strongly on the operating conditions. This work presents a mathematical model to describe and simulate the liquid–vapor equilibrium system for PZ/ MDEA/CO2 /H2 O. Output results obtained by the proposed model are compared with experimental data taken from the literature. For several initial concentrations of CO2 in the solution, the influence of the temperature on the distribution of the chemical species is investigated and discussed
