The purpose of this article is to analyze agribusiness hegemony construction strategies in Argentina, promoted by agricultural megacompanies. Specifically how such strategies are translated into specific territories and incorporated into its primary recipients’ subjectivities. To that end, the material collected in three extensive qualitative and quantitative investigations, carried out between 2010 and 2021 in three Argentine provinces (Buenos Aires, Santa Fe and Chaco), is analyzed. It includes interviews and surveys with different agrarian actors and a prolonged ethnography of the solidarity networks that assemble the dominant agricultural actors with extra-sectoral actors. Based on this research, we show different levels of consensus on the agribusiness model as well as the emergence of certain tensions, especially regarding the benefits associated with its “network” operating logic. Finally, the results show that the agribusiness hegemonic position in Argentina is based on a dynamic relationship that does not take place without conflict, but does materialize to the extent that criticism and dispute develop within the framework of the terms established within the hegemony as “the possible”.
