Utopías de las lenguas indígenas en las políticas educativas bilingües e interculturales de Argentina

Abstract

En este artículo se estudia el papel de las lenguas indígenas en las políticas educativas destinadas a los pueblos indígenas de Argentina. Particularmente, revisaremos críticamente el estatus asignado a dichas lenguas en algunas propuestas implícitas y explícitas de educación intercultural bilingüe. De este modo, trataremos de comprender algunas de sus inconsistencias tomando como caso de referencia a la situación de los niños indígenas migrantes tobas (qom) en contextos urbanos de las afueras de la ciudad de Buenos Aires (Argentina).This article studies the role of the indigenous languages in the educational policies connected to the indigenous population of Argentina. Particularly, we will review, in a critical way, the status assigned to these tongues in some of the implicit and explicit proposals of bilingual intercultural education. In this way, we will try to understand some of the inconsistencies taking as reference the case of the situation of the migrant indigenous children tobas (qom) in urban contexts in the outskirts of the city of Buenos Aires (Argentina).
