The present paper aims to identify some of the projects in geography that were defined from the beginning of the 19th century until today in Argentina. Thus, five periods are examined in which various disciplinary proposals emerge projects of utilitarian Geography, regional Geography, social Geography and Geopolitics were defined. It is understood that in the fifth period, previous perspectives coexist alongside newly emerging ones. The analysis of each stage takes into account the interaction between the context and the organizations of institutions, the performance of certain scholars, the writing of key texts and the struggles between different positions.
