María Teresa Andruetto´s writing puts on stage a powerfull interaction between the prosaic and the poetic. This interaction allows us to appreciate a poetic attitude as the basis of the conformation of her writing. Jorge Monteleone points out that “Andruetto´s poetics is her most concentrate writing, the core of her work where she seeks that ideal of her poetics.” And he emphasises that this poetry resolves around a female name, a woman´s voice, a gender choice. Elements that we question here to understand certain configurations caused by that poetic attitude, both in poetry and in the novel, as well as in language features common to both generic groups. In consonance with Mother tongue, we investigate Andruetto´s poetry in order to posit that there is in it a singular work that, from the sensory and the perceptual, explores orders of the language that traces genealogies from the feminine, the women´s voices and the gender choices to interrogate the real.
