This article aims to understand the emotion of fear of secondary school/high school students when faced with the suicide of a schoolmate. Testimonies obtained within the framework of a socio-educational study carried out in two schools in peripheral urban areas of the Province of Buenos Aires are analyzed. The analysis of the student narratives allows us to affirm that suicide structures fears linked to death itself and the possibility of this event occurring again among generational peers. The fear of suicide reconfigures the networks of sociability and leads survivors to develop a set of collective strategies aimed at processing suffering.
