During the movement of the Reformation of Cordoba in 1918, masculine protagonism prevailed, due to the presence of women in the university. Since then and in particular from the fifties there would be a slow but accurate process of feminization of enrollment in existing national universities. Within the framework of this process, women acquired greater prominence in the political life of students. In this article I intend to delve into the participation of women in the student movement in the fifties and sixties of the twentieth century in the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Buenos Aires, to account for the debates that took place then between the reformist legacy and the new left perspectives. It is a period marked by the tension between Peronism-anti-Peronism, by the dissimilar appropriations of university reform and by different positions on the role of the student movement in the institutional and national scene in the framework of the emerging debate between liberalism, Marxism and nationalism from the impact of the Cuban Revolution.
