The cult of the Virgin of Urkupiña has its origins in Cochabamba – Bolivia – and, in recent years, it has arrived in Argentina through Bolivian migrants. In the city of Salta, it is an Andean practice and is far from the established by the Catholic canon. There are more and more believers who register their practices in the local territory. The analysis is inscribed in an interdisciplinary perspective to explore the maps that build the practices of the devotees. Attention is paid to parallel belief industries that are expanding in the local macro-center. In contrast, some strategies of the Catholic Church of Salta and the municipality are to discipline and centralize the cult. This cartographic trip allows us to think about the multiple senses of the city that are disputed from a rhizomatic, border, migrant and assimilated form of Marian religiosity by the families of the city.
