Senegaleses en Buenos Aires: Estrategias comunitarias pre y durante la pandemia

Abstract

En el presente trabajo analizamos estrategias llevadas a cabo por el colectivo senegalés residente en la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires. Algunas de estas prácticas se vinculan al carácter transnacional de esta migración, otras son estrategias que han adoptado para sortear los obstáculos cotidianos, muchos de ellos producto de trabas migratorias y laborales que impone la ciudad, otros debido a las diferencias lingüísticas y la falta de políticas para comunidades no hispanohablantes. Asimismo, analizamos nuevas estrategias que han desarrollado para sobrellevar la situación de aislamiento obligatorio por COVID-19.In this article we analyze strategies carried out by the Senegalese collective resident in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. Some of these practices are linked to the transnational nature of this migration, others are strategies they have adopted to overcome daily obstacles, many of them are the product of migratory and labor barriers imposed by the city, others due to linguistic differences and the lack of policies for non-Spanish speaking communities. We also analyze new strategies that have been developed to cope with the situation of mandatory isolation due to CIVID-19.
