De la carte-de-visite al sexting: Historia de la representación sexual del cuerpo femenino

Abstract

El objetivo del artículo es indagar en los cruces históricos entre tecnologías de la imagen y sexualidad, a fin de ubicar un fenómeno novedoso como el sexting en relación con prácticas anteriores. Mediante la investigación bibliográfica de autores de diversas nacionalidades y disciplinas, realizamos un recorrido que analiza diferentes formas de representación del cuerpo femenino a lo largo de la historia. Desde los intercambios fotográficos en la época victoriana hasta las prácticas sexuales en medios digitales, la relación entre imagen y sexualidad ha recorrido un largo camino, manteniendo siempre a la mujer joven como objeto de deseo.The aim of the article is to investigate the historical crossings between image technologies and sexuality, in order to locate a novel phenomenon such as sexting in relation to previous practices. Through a bibliographical research of authors of different nationalities and disciplines, we make a tour that analyzes different forms of representation of the female body throughout history. From the photographic exchanges in the Victorian era to sexual practices in digital media, the relationship between image and sexuality has come a long way, keeping the young woman as the object of desire.
