This study was focused on 100 individual trees of Prosopis alba, at three different sites in the Chaco region, Argentina, which were measured diameter at breast height (DBH), total height (Ht), shaft height (Hf ), eight crown radius; also the crown area, diameter and volume was estimated. The main objective of this work, was to determine a relationship between DAP and all the traits mentioned above through a multiple linear regression, using the fewest variables possible to explain the DAP. The relationship between the Mean Crown Radius (MCR) -DBH, Ht- DBH and DBH-MCR was also studied, to which different regression models were used, which would allow to estimate meaningful traits in inventories. The results of the multiple linear regression analysis showed that the DBH can be estimated from the MCR and the total height, being the model and the coefficients statically significant, with an adjusted R2 0.74. The regression analysis made between the MCR, total height and DBH was also statistically significant (p <0.001) and strong (R2 > 0.56). It was observed a close relationship between the RMC-DBH (R2 = 0.7), followed by DBH-MCR (R2 = 0.69) and Ht-DAP the relationship with (R2 = 0.56). The results of this study shows that the relationshipbetween MCR-DBH and DBH from MCR can be described by quadratic and linear models, respectively, while Ht-DAP relationship can be described by an exponential model.
