The aim of this work is to carry out a component variance analysis and a generalizability analysis to estimate facets that better explain the variability of flow and autotelic experience in adolescent athletes of Argentinean National Teams. Two hundred and thirty-eight adolescents (51.70% male, 48.30% female) aged between 11 and 18 years (M = 15.37, SD = 1.29) participated in the study, answering a socio-demographic questionnaire and The Flow State Scale for adolescents. Gender, type of sport, age, hours of practice, and interactions between these variables are facets that explain the variability of flow and autotelic experience. Also, significant differences by gender and type of sport was found in flow and autotelic experience. It is concluded that differences in sport socialization with respect to gender and the specific demands of this type of elite sports may be factors that explain this variability among these adolescents.
