Brazilian immigration in Argentina has specific characteristics. Although it has been very low and numerically not as representative as Bolivian, Chilean or Paraguayan migration, it has singularities that deserve to be developed throughout this article. Carlos Hasenbalg and Alejandro Frigerio in Imigrantes brasileiros na Argentina (1999) identify two migratory subsystems that are not linked to each other, one in the province of Misiones and another destined for the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires. From this characterization, the aim of this paper is to analyze the migration dynamics of Brazilian since the late nineteenth century up to the present. Based on the difference between Tropicalismo and Europeanism raised by Gustavo Lins Ribeiro (2001), in this article are characterized Brazilian migrants and are historicized their territorial and temporal singularities at a first point. Then, it goes into each of the subsystems that have become paradigmatic of this migration, and eventually arrives at some conclusions about the peculiarities that have the Brazilian immigration in Argentina.
