In recent decades, the advance of capital over Pampean agriculture hand in hand with the agribusiness model generated profound modifications in the forms of production and work. These aspects have been widely addressed by agrarian social studies. However, there is a central feature of these transformations that has not been given enough attention. We refer to the complexity of management tasks in agricultural enterprises, referred to by academic literature and business discourses as "professionalization". The aim of this research is to characterize this process, identifying some of the main trends and tensions in the territories. The analysis is based on data from the national agricultural censuses and interviews with agrarian actors in the province of Buenos Aires carried out between 2010 and 2018.
