This article argues that the problem of animality can operate as a key to disarticulate the ways in which the “dispositif of the Human” has inscribed and distributed bodies, dictating which lives are those that deserve to be lived (affirmed and potentiated, as are human) and which lives are those that are thrown to death and usufruct (as are animal or less-than-human). To this end, a perspective is proposed that takes up the posthumanist debate on the relations between species, capacity and race. It is argued that such a reflection would allow access to a more comprehensive understanding of the ways in which the dispositif of the Human intersects and links the non-identical logics of animalisation, racialisation and ableism, through the prism that Cary Wolfe called the “Discourse of Species”.
