River measurements in the central region of Argentina for the study of sediment transport in the San Roque Reservoir, Córdoba, Argentina.

Abstract

Se publican datos hidrológicos de la región central de Argentina (como los ríos Primero, Segundo, Tercero, Cuarto, Carcarañá, Saladillo, Quillinzo, San Antonio, entre otros) con el objeto de estimar el rango de variación de los parámetros hidrológicos e hidráulicos típicos de la región. Estos datos fueron obtenidos a partir de mediciones experimentales con distintas técnicas: usando un Perfilador de Corriente Acústico Doppler (ADCP, por sus siglas en ingles), un Velocímetro Acústico Doppler (ADV, por sus siglas en inglés) o Velocimetría por Imágenes de Partículas a Gran Escala (LSPIV, por sus siglas en ingles). A su vez, se incorporan mediciones especificas en el río San Antonio con ADCP y seguimiento de flotadores para evaluar un modelo conceptual de trasporte de sedimentos desarrollado por los autores de este conjunto de datos. Hydrological data from the central region of Argentina (including the Primero, Segundo, Tercero, Cuarto, Carcarañá, Saladillo, Quillinzo, and San Antonio rivers, among others) are published to estimate the range of variation of the typical hydrological and hydraulic parameters of the region. These data were obtained from experimental measurements using different techniques: an Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP), an Acoustic Doppler Velocimeter (ADV), or Large-Scale Particle Image Velocimetry (LSPIV). Additionally, specific measurements in the San Antonio River using ADCP and float tracking are included to evaluate a conceptual sediment transport model developed by the authors of this dataset.
