The persistence of the essentialist conception of an internal otherness in different cultural practices and discourses has obtained clear symbolic and political resistance in the Argentine drama of different regions of the country. Based on this diagnosis, in this article we delimit the object-problem to the figures of historical otherness represented in the dramas of Patagonia and the Argentine northwest (period 1983-2008), in particular, we will analyze those figures that have been elaborated in terms of animality. For this exploration, we limit the textual analysis to a corpus of strategic cases, according to comparative nodes that result from systematic literary and scenic archival work. In the first instance, the results obtained offer an observational map on poetic figures that contribute to refuting homogenizing and reductionist readings of alterities.
