Imágenes sobrevivientes: Fotografía y memoria en una obra de Paula Luttringer

Abstract

¿Cómo se mira un espacio de desaparición? ¿De qué manera fotografiar el lugar que ha visto por última vez un desaparecido? ¿Cómo contar los hechos de los que esas paredes han sido testigos? Y, finalmente, ¿cómo desandar la huella sobreviviente hacia el testimonio? A partir de estas preguntas, se indaga en la posibilidad del testimonio sobre el pasado reciente desde una de las fotografías de la serie El lamento de los muros, de Paula Luttringer, en donde el vínculo entre imagen y escritura se vuelve punto de partida para una reconstrucción del sentido. Fotos, en suma, que podrán permitir a las víctimas tomar la palabra.How to look at a space of disappearance? How to photograph a clandestine detention centre? How to narrate the facts of which these walls have witnessed? And finally, how to retrace from the surviving marks to the testimony? From these questions, this presentation explores the possibility of testimony about argentinian recent past, based on one of the photographs of Paula Luttringer’s El lamento de los muros. In this work, the artist links image and writing as a starting point for a reconstruction of meaning, as an act that may give voice to the victims.
