This article analyzes the conjunction of two phenomena that have fuelled the growth of radicalized right: the popularization of social networks and of antifeminist discourses. As part of a broader investigation, here we focus on the uses of scientific discourse to oppose ‘gender ideology’ by a group of anti-gender influencers. To do so, we selected some of the most popular Argentinian YouTube channels whose content focuses on opposing feminism. We formed a corpus with the most viewed videos, and complemented it by carrying out specific thematic searches. In addition, we explored the content of these actors in other media (books and digital newspapers) and platforms (X and Facebook), where anti-gender and radicalized right discourses are produced and circulated locally and regionally. In the analysis we highlight that this group of influencers use communication strategies that range from strategic secularism and an impostured use of scientific discourse that fetishises certain sciences, to anti-intellectual positions that advocate a revalorization of ‘common sense’ as a way of opposing the supposedly superfluous sophistication of scientific discourse.
