This paper examines how the implementation of information and communication technology affects the creative work of journalists of the online newsroom of a traditional Argentinean newspaper company. This article is part of an ongoing investigation, based on qualitative, indepth interviews and observation of work practices. Using researches of the Political Economy of Communication as the main framework, this paper analyzes which mechanisms of work control exist over the workers and how they react towards these. Furthermore, the different behaviors that workers have against the control –such as collaboration and resistances- will also be taken into account to understand –partially- the routines of online newsroom and changes in professional culture and journalists' working conditions.
