In this work, a deterministic and non-convex mathematical model is presented in order to optimize the fresh solvent flow rate that fed a reactive absorption column of CO2 in CO2 -Pz -H2 O-N2 -O2 system. The model was conducted under certain simplifying assumptions and implemented in GAMS (General Algebraic Modeling System). The obtained results are in good agreement with bibliography and are discussed through some examples. On the other hand, two configurations are optimized: 1) adiabatic column and 2) intercooling absorber. For all the analyzed cases, it is noted that operations at low load CO2 (0.16<αL<0.28) do not require intercooling to improve the performance of mass transfer using the minimum amount of fresh solvent to achieve a recovery of 90%. On the contrary, for higher loadings (0.28<αL<0.34) the optimal operation of the column is benefited with intercooling in the area where maximum temperature were observed when the column operates adiabatically.
