This essay aims to reflect how the data matrix system is expressed in the expert practices of the context of application of Documentology. For the methodological debate, the work starts from the idea that all technoscientific activity is configured in four contexts: education, innovation, evaluation and application (Echeverría, 1995). The context of application uses the knowledge constructed in the contexts of innovation and evaluation, situating it in a specific case. Thus, it is argued that in documentological expertise (application context of the discipline), a system of data matrices is configured, where the expert brings the knowledge produced in the field of scientific research to solve a social problem. The data constructed in the documentological expertise crosses a matrices system where the document is disaggregated into successive components, to be then integrated into levels of greater complexity. Beyond the local function of the data, it presents unusual richness and complexity; with instances where it explores, describes and seeks to approach an explanation about the event.
