The article contributes to the understanding of public policy surrounding water and sanitation services in the province of Buenos Aires. Specifically, it focuses on the institutionalization and trajectory of these services, whose course has led to the consolidation of the three existing supply subsystems within the territory. The selection of the province of Buenos Aires for our unit of analysis is based, firstly, on the multiplicity of actors involved in these services; secondly, the territorial inequality that characterizes access to the services; and thirdly, the few records available on the subject. The essay employs a qualitative methodology combined with a narrative approach to examine the public policy instruments and coordination efforts involved in this process.
