Taking into account the academic discourse investigations that have been published in recent years, this article aims to identify, in a set of theses written by psychoanalysts, psychoanalytic discursive practices that do not respond to the academic writing imaginary. In this sense, we understand that gender is permeable to psychoanalysis language, that takes distance from the recommendations made in writing manuals. Following the discourse analysis perspective, we present, first, those discursive features that are found in most of the theses of our corpus, which significantly differ from the indications that demand the academic institution. Secondly, as an example, we analyze a particular thesis, because it has features that are consistent with the academic and the psychoanalysis imaginary.
