There is a history of multidimensional studies in urban gardens that generally address the determinants of crop biodiversity. Our objective was to establish how the characteristics of producers and their gardens in Bariloche (a city with great social inequality and little horticultural production) affect the implementation of agroecological practices (PBA) and the richness (R), specific (SD) and functional diversity (FD) and production (P) of crops. For this purpose, we conducted semi-structured interviews with producers and multi-model inference analysis. We found that the PBA used were determined by the experience in their current orchard and the producer's training. R, DE and DF are PBA, but our analysis showed that they are influenced by other practices and producer characteristics. This work allows us to identify factors to be strengthened by public policies to strengthen urban gardens as providers of a healthy environment and food sovereignty.
