Inbreeding and coancestry increase homozygosis and create autozygous genotypes but they do not modify allelic frequencies. Inbreeding coefficient could be estimated by neutral loci because its effects are expressed by all loci in each individual. Putative presence of inbreeding and its effect on phenotypic values of polygenic traits could be studied from neutral loci and the mean of quantitative trait in k subpopulations together to fixation index FITk. Adult individuals of Anadenanthera colubrina var. cebil were analyzed. The conclusions of this study arethat polygenic traits did not show mean reduction in phenotypic values which indicate that there was no inbreeding depression, populations showed low levels of coancestry and high effective sizes.
