This article analyses Flash magazine›s coverage of the conflict between Argentina and the United Kingdom over the Malvinas in order to understand the hierarchical structure and treatment it gave to the issue. The interest in this publication lies in its scope and influence, but also because there is a lack of specific studies on its enunciative behaviour from April to June 1982. The methodology used is qualitative and articulates categories of the theory of enunciation, critical discourse analysis, and socio-semiotics. The main result is that the magazine appeals to a rhetoric of success, although there is an intermittent presence of the topic in its journalistic agenda, which is pertinent to highlight given the importance that the Malvinas Islands had for the owner of the publication, Héctor Ricardo García.
