This article sets out to analyse two objects - the mate-granade and the pipe-bullet - and the practices surrounding them on the basis of the Theory of Assemblages with the aim of observing the possible relationships between the 1982 war and the process of expansion of the frontier of the argentinian nation-state (decade of 1880). Since 2020, the EAMM (Equipo de Arqueología Memorias de Malvinas) aims to carry out an archaeology of the 1982 war. As a starting point, the team has conducted more than sixty interviews with Argentine war veterans, focusing on their objects as bearers of memories. The typologies used to classify these objects include those created through the creative reuse of other artefacts. This category allows us to weave relationships with other historical processes in which military personnel lived through similar situations (hunger, waiting, cold, isolation) and in which they also created objects to survive.
