Over the last few years, the Argentinean government has produced various types of incentives, which, together with the agro-climatic characteristics of the pampean region, make the generation of bioethanol from corn a convenient activity with optimistic yields. In this way, a diversification of the energy matrix can be achieved, as well as economic, social and environmental benefits, among others. This chapter aims to report on the state of the art of biomass energy, in particular from the corn industry, both in the province of Córdoba and in Argentina and, briefly, in the global context. It provides the necessary information to lay the foundations for the production and implementation of biomass energy at different scales and for efficient decision making in the area.
