This paper presents the experience of the First Regional Gathering of Rare Theater, held in Mendoza, Argentina, in May 2025. On the one hand, it presents a cartography of regional theatricalities based on experimental explorations. On the other hand, the event serves as a springboard for philosophical reflection on a form of aesthetic-political resistance in our current context of cultural emptiness. To this end, it employs Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari’s notion of minority, which allows us to understand these theatricalities as micropolitics practices of dislocation of the normative distribution of the sensible. In other words, it considers that the multiplicity of poetics reflects a diversity of experimental interests that, at the same time, reveal the discontinuous and incomplete nature of any cartography. Likewise, the notion of intermittence in George Didi-Huberman’s firefly image is used to understand the political aspect of an image, and by extension, of theatricality, synthesizes a power of resistance characterized by discontinuity and temporal dissipation. In this sense, the theatrical practices invoked are an index of a series of appearances, survivals, and resistances.
