Loma Grande is located on the highland in the Chuquis basin (northeastern foothills of the Velasco range, province of La Rioja), and it is one of the 43 residential sites in the area dating to the first millennium AD. This paper presents for the first time the main features of this site, establishes its chronology, and, through the analysis of two contemporary enclosures that differ in their spatial location and context, infers the activities carried out by their occupants. To achieve this, dwelling building techniques were characterized using planimetric surveys with optical level and drone technology. Excavations were carried out on the total surface of two structures, and a systematic study was made of all recovered materials: pottery assemblages, faunal remains and micro-remains from ceramic vessels. Based on the generated data, we discuss the specific practices developed within each of the enclosures and intra-site spatial organization.
