Since the beginning of the 21st century in Argentina, a strong social critique of many of the assumptions that nurtured the so-called neoliberal reforms implemented in the preceding decade began to unfold. In particular, the questioning to the core of the reforms, the privatization of public goods and services, accompanied the reversal of the process in a series of failed experiences, where the State began to assume the control of the activities. In this context we inquire about: what was the logic that led the main re-nationalizations of the period?; which is the social legitimacy of nationalizations?; which are the dominant representations regarding the business function of the State? To carry out this work we analyze the results of an opinion poll representative of the population of the Metropolitan area of Buenos Aires, in articulation with press information and specialized literature on the subject.
