The paper analyzes representations of female travelers in Argentine Patagonia first half the mid20th Century. We will review these ideas starting from the notion of travel and its meaning for women, and we will intersect it with the notions of the body and its connection with space from gender studies. From here, we seek to discover particularities about the female journey in the mountains and reflect on them, paying special attention to the experiences that occur from the corporality and the sensory effects that the Patagonian imaginary stimulates. To approach the study, we will review narrative and visual discourses from sources that focused on tourism as an activity such as records of National Parks and tourist guides, to widely circulated magazines and photos from regional, public and private archives of the Andean zone.
