Based on a study focused on the territory that was called Subzone 51 (1975-1983) in the mid-1970s, the article questions about the "legalization" device of disappeared detainees and particularly on the use of some of these victims in the "psychological operations" assembling maded by the Armed Forces. "Legalizations" were the form of liaison by which the Army regularized the legal status of the disappeared detainees, enabling, with that act, the continuity of various practices of control and punishment in jails over them. Based on this principle, the hypothesis is thatthe V Army Corps, as part of these processes, made use of different people groups who would be “legalized” with the aim of contributing to the assembly of a “psychological operations” series –that involved other victims–, in which it was sought to crystallize certain senses about the “subversion” actions at the local level.
