Resumen
Data used to evaluate if all the sites used to evaluate if honeybee hives affect male fitness of Larrea divaricata in a dryland reserve have the same characteristics (plant and flower visitor assemblages) Experimental design: Over three years, we worked with beekeepers to establish five beekeeping sites (25 hives at each site) and, from each beekeeping site, we established a 1 km transect with two sampling points: one near (200 m) and one far (1000 m) from managed hives. Sampling: To evaluate whether plant composition changed between sites, we estimated the number of plant species in bloom. In addition, to evaluate whether the distance among Larrea divaricata individuals changes between sites, in 2022, we measured inter-plant distances. To assess whether the flower visitor assemblage of Larrea divaricata changed between sites, in 2019 and 2021, we recorded insect visits to flowers by observing during 5 min a flowering branch of Larrea divaricata.
