Since the 90s, some critical perspectives on Negrismo Poetic canon have read this Poetics in the light of a gender perspective aimed at revealing the androcentric structure of representation of the subjectivity and corporeality of the hypersexualized black woman. In this paper I propose to develop a reading of this poetic corpus against the new dominant critical exegesis that locate it in the monolithic place of the androcentric and stereotyped reification of women as objects of desire and consumption, to postulate, instead, that the representation of women's bodies in Negrismo Poetry, although at times trapped in an androcentric structure, at the same time consigns an emancipatory somatic imagery.
