Descriptions of mature larvae of the genera Austrelmis and Macrelmis (Coleoptera: Elmidae) from Argentina

Abstract

Mature larvae of two species from the genus Austrelmis Brown, 1984 and one species from the genus Macrelmis Motschulsky, 1860 are described and illustrated for the first time: A. argentinensis Manzo et Archangelsky, 2015, A. tafi Manzo et Archangelsky, 2015, and M. aequalis (Hinton, 1937). A comparison of the larvae of these species with the described larvae of other species from their respective genera is provided. Additionally, information on the habitat and distribution of the examined species is included.Впервые описаны и проиллюстрированы личинки старших возрастов двух видов из рода Austrelmis Brown, 1984 и одного вида из рода Macrelmis Motschulsky, 1860: A. argentinensis Manzo et Archangelsky, 2015, A. tafi Manzo et Archangelsky, 2015 и M. aequalis (Hinton, 1937). Приведено сравнение личинок этих видов с описанными личинками других видов из соответствующих родов. Также даны сведения о среде обитания и распространении изученных видов.
