In this paper, we are submitting a joint archaeological fauna analysis, considering the taxonomic, tafonomic and economic aspects combined with characteristics related to its stratigraphy relations; spatial distribution and contextual record. The materials studied relate to the structure 1 (ca. 600 years B.P.) of the Site Piedra Horadada 2 (PH2), Antofagasta de la Sierra, province of Catamarca, Argentine. The optimum environmental conservation conditions of the material there provided us with a varied record composed of bone remains, fibres, insects, feathers, pellets and coprolites. The archaeozoological information contributes to: a) the construction of the occupational history of the site; b) the activities developed; c) time and seasonality of occupation, d) periods of abandonment and e) economics aspects of consumption, among others. The integration of this with the general characteristics of the settlement –in terms of location, structure of the site and context- allow us to propose the existence of collection of linked social practices and a particular sequence of spatial use, but without losing sight of the general framework of the occupational dynamics of pastoral groups in this puna landscape.
