This paper analyzes and discusses different aspects that allow us to think the rock art of the archaeological site of Oyola (Catamarca Province, Argentina) as a polychronic assembly. In this way, it explores the processes of formation and transformation of the shelters with paintings. They are compared with other sites whose logical of aggregation of motifs in time seem to have been different. Finally, we highlight some of the consequences that result from understanding these caves as assembly of heterogeneous times, mainly linked to the concepts of style, tradition and memory.
