This article takes the form of a critical essay divided into three parts. In the first, I present arguments and information to clarify that, although some groups of indigenous women have been challenging Argentine feminism in recent years, the majority do not construct forms of feminist agency for various reasons, a question obliterated in the discussions of postcolonial and decolonial feminism. In the second part, I point out difficulties and resistances for indigenous activists and referents to assume feminist identities although postcolonial and decolonial feminism installs in advance a theoretical debate around two positions to explain the existence of patriarchal relations in indigenous contexts. In third place I develop some ideas around the question of whether it is possible or not to speak of the existence of an “indigenous feminism”.
