The following work finds its core in the analysis of the complex relations between the dimensions of the politic and the social in the intersection of social and political theory. In the first place, we propose a revision of the social´s conceptions involved in the post-foundational perspective of the political defined by Oliver Marchart. This author focuses his attack in the idea of a single foundation of the social. Here, the main critic is connected with a normative vision of social order. Secondly, we discuss the perspective of Michel Foucault, focusing on the notion of society from its articulation with the notions of discipline, biopolitics and normalization. Lastly, we consider that this theoretical perspective is another way of approaching the density of the emergence of the social in the context of the notion of society.
