In recent decades, Argentine literature has witnessed the appearance of a set of novels belonging to a particular imaginary: the post-apocalyptic one. Unlike other manifestations of the apocalypse, these fictions stage natural catastrophes that put aside the religious configurations of the myth to focus on human responsibilities in the face of the destruction of the world. In this sense, these fictions do not constitute an isolated event in the literary and cultural sphere, but are part of a larger problem linked to the debates around the notion of the Anthropocene. The following work proposes to carry out an approach to the way in which certain recent Argentine fictions challenge canonized literary constructions around nature, based on the configuration of a post-apocalyptic imaginary tied to the environmental collapse. The novels that make up the corpus of analysis are: Un futuro radiante (2016) by Pablo Plotkin and El sistema de las estrellas (2017) by Carlos Chernov.
