Construction of a scale measuring gratitude in children and adolescents. The present study is aimed to elaborate and analyze the psychometric properties of a gratitude scale for children. Participants were 593 students between 9 and 13 years old, which attended public primary schools in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. 49.92% of the sample was randomly selected to carry out exploratory validation, while the remaining 50.08% was used in confirmatory analysis. The instrument’s internal consistency was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. The final version was a 15-item scale (α = .76), comprised of two dimensions: gratitude (α = .75) and ingratitude (α = .66). A one-way analysis of variance revealed a significant difference between sexes, with girls showing higher levels of gratitude than boys.
