Within the international climate agenda, the REDD+ mechanism (Reduction of Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation) is the main alternative of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to address the forest issues. The theoretical framework is based on elements from Well-Being and the Latin American Political Environmentalism approaches. Regarding the methodological section, it is a comparative study case. It is focused on the analysis of documents exchanged by States with the UNFCCC and by different actors linked to the forest and climate arrangements (NGOs, native communities). The selected time frame focused in the administrations of Evo Morales in Bolivia (2006-2019) and Rafael Correa (2007-2017) in Ecuador.
