Dependencies of the national state and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, editors, business chambers, associations and individual actors were actively involved in the construction and in the definitions of the presentation in this space. The importance of the event in addition to Argentina was first elected as a country-theme, enhanced the symbolic dimension of the book fair participation by tensing different meanings. The aim of this paper is to describe and analyze from the perspective of cultural policies some disputes over identity and culture related to the preparations for the submission of Argentina in Frankfurt from its impact on print media.
