This article is the result of a doctoral research project that aimed to study, from the perspective of linguistic historiography, the history of teacher training in linguistics at the Universidad Nacional del Litoral (UNL) during the Argentine post-dictatorship (1983-2003). This presentation presents some of the results obtained from the period immediately following the restoration of democracy, from 1983 to 1991, the year until which the curriculum approved in 1980 was in force in the Humanities program. Based on an analysis of course programs from the period, this paper recovers the privileged linguistic perspectives in the training of teachers at the UNL, with special attention to the teaching of linguistic varieties of Spanish. In this sense, it seeks to show how the configuration of the language was conceived in the selection of content for university curricula and what conception of linguistic variation predominated in teacher training during the period in question.
