Ángel Rama y Antonio Candido: un proyecto crítico latinoamericano ante las crisis nacionales

Abstract

El presente artículo se centra en la descripción de la relación personal y política establecida y sostenida por los críticos Ángel Rama y Antonio Candido en el marco de las crisis políticas e institucionales latinoamericanas producidas a lo largo de las décadas del sesenta y setenta. El objetivo general es elucidar la emergencia y la configuración de un proyecto crítico e historiográfico orientado a consolidar un proyecto político y cultural latinoamericano integrado. La hipótesis que se sostiene es que la coyuntura de un contexto de crisis nacionales, más que un obstáculo, puede constituir un horizonte de posibilidad para la gestación de un proyecto de integración cultural latinoamericana.The present paper focuses on the description of the personal and political relationship established and sustained by the critics Ángel Rama and Antonio Candido in the context of the Latin American political and institutional crises produced during the sixties and seventies. The general objective is to elucidate the emergence and configuration of a critical and historiographic project aimed at consolidating an integrated Latin American political and cultural project. The hypothesis that is held is that the situation of a context of national crises, rather than an obstacle, may constitute a horizon of possibility for the gestation of a Latin American cultural integration project.
