Complexity and multidimensionality in the approach to the habitat of vulnerable populations are indisputable premises in studies on housing policies. However, in mass production, Social Housing relies on reductionist conceptualizations. In this sense, this work proposes to challenge theory and praxis of housing production in Argentina. In methodological terms, a bibliographic discussion builds a referential framework, identifying those dimensions that architectural practice, through its specific instrument -the project- can contribute to the state of the art. Then, the comparative analysis of two case studies is enabled: a theoretical reference and another representative of federal housing policies -Argentina. In the discussion, the relevance of specifically disciplinary theoretical categories is pondered, as a contribution to the construction of an integrating epistemic framework.
