La dimensión metateatral en Un drama nuevo (Manuel Tamayo y Baus) y en Los cuernos de Don Friolera (Ramón del Valle-Inclán): una visión comparativa

Abstract

En este artículo realizaremos un análisis comparativo de dos piezas teatrales clásicas españolas: Un drama nuevo, de Manuel Tamayo y Baus, y Los cuernos de Don Friolera, de Ramón del Valle-Inclán. Analizaremos sus aspectos metateatrales: teatro dentro del teatro, teatro sobre teatro, concepto de metateatralidad, las reflexiones que sobre el teatro se llevan a cabo dentro de cada obra, y los límites brumosos entre realidad y ficción.

This article compares two classical Spanish dramas: Un drama nuevo, by Manuel Tamayo y Baus, and Los cuernos de Don Friolera, by Ramón del Valle-Inclán, analyzing their metatheatrical dimension, or the reflections about theater that each play perfoms on the misty limits between reality and fiction: the ‘play- within-the-play’, the 'theater about theater', and the ‘metateatrality concept’.
